I drove 4 hours through some beautiful countryside from Mt Greylock to Taughannock Falls state park in NY. This is the highest waterfall east of the Rockies. The gorge is steep and the revitalized home to many Peregrine falcons. I hiked the trails which are very wide paths in reality there was some elevation and I hiked all of them which included going in and out of the gorge so it was a good workout. The trails weren’t as long as I expected given the write-up I saw so I finished early and in the rain. The man who own the land (a beautiful path through the woods to a meadow along a creek!) let me stay in his oversized vinyl tent since it was raining and no one happened to be renting it!
