Butt vs Butte

Made the trek from west of Bozeman to the town of Billings. I posted a nice picture this morning from early in that drive.

Long drive and my butt was sore but it was worth it to see the buttes of Billings. Billings is spread out over a wide area but it primarily sits at the base of a large, older butte known as Zimmerman Park and beyond. It is an elevated recreational area overlooking the town. Apparently, people go there to jog, bike, and hike. Once again, I had a beautiful day and the landscape was magnificent!

I went for a walk and hike around the entire area and then on some private land which the owners allow for recreation at your own risk.

The trails were not marked, but I spoke with a native and they are relatively easy to navigate. The area was simply spectacular.

I then headed to my HipCamp site which is once again, just outstanding. Shade, rolling hills, buttes, trees, grass, farm animals… just unbelievable!

I am putting my travel into high gear. No more recreational stops and the focus will be on getting home!

Nice shade… again in the mid 80’s
